Wednesdays This Summer
July 5 through August 23 (no concert July 26)
“Summer Sounds,” our free outdoor concert series featuring local musicians, returns in July with a lineup featuring a great variety of family-friendly performances. The series will run weekly at the main library on Wednesdays from 6 – 7 PM. Join us July 5 for the series kickoff with Love Love Trio: vocal-and-lyric-driven ’60s and ’70s-inspired rock with two lead voices blending beautifully. On July 12, Adrienne Howard and Linda Swicker will present traditional music from Ireland, Quebec, France, and Appalachia on instruments including fiddle, mandolin, banjo, guitar, and hurdy-gurdy. And on July 19, enjoy the music of folk and traditional singer-songwriter Molly Pinto Madigan.
July 19: MOLLY PINTO MADIGAN, Hailed for her angelic voice and haunting compositions of folk and traditional music.
July 26: NO CONCERT, But come to hang and enjoy the patio!
August 2: JD DEBRIS & BODEK, Art pop unplugged.
August 9: BOB & JEN STROM, Husband and wife duo with Irish fiddle music, traditional and contemporary folk songs.
August 16: NICK CONSONE & ELEANOR JANE, Singer-songwriter duo from indie rock to soulful blues.
August 23: BOB KRAMER BAND, Acoustic trio, blues/rock/roots with urban and jazz influences.
Summer Sounds takes place rain or shine – weather permitting, concerts will take place in the Winter Street courtyard, and in case of rain, join us in the Sohier Room on the ground floor.
