We are pleased to announce the selection of our former Young Adult Librarian, Allison Babin, for the position of Assistant Director of the Beverly Public Library. Allison replaces Anna Langstaff, who became the library’s new director in April. Allison began working at the library over six years ago, starting out as an Assistant Reference Librarian and quickly progressing to running Young Adult services where, among many other achievements, she doubled teen program attendance and established an active Teen Advisory Board. As Assistant Director, Allison will be responsible for a variety of administrative duties, including personnel functions and assisting in planning and evaluating Library projects.
Allison says, “Working with Beverly’s amazing teens has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career. I am excited to expand my contribution to all library departments with the aim of continuing to offer and improve our enriching programs, collection, and services to all members of our wonderful community, while providing ongoing support to our talented staff.” Allison has an undergraduate degree in English Literature and received her MLIS from the University of Pittsburgh.
