Kaleidoscope Group began in 2010 when four members of our group first met at a photography workshop taught by photography greats including Constantine Manas, Stella Johnson and Dominic Chavez. It was at this workshop that we discovered our shared passion for the art of the camera and formed our photography group. Since 2010 and after nearly 20 local exhibitions our little group has expanded to include 10 photographers of which three of us are able to include some of our photos in this virtual exhibition; Carol Horvitz, Davis Noble and Diana Ronell. The photographs we chose for this show are not meant to represent a single coherent body of work; the selection simply represents some of our styles and interests in various subjects. Each of us approaches photography in different ways and we each have changed over time.
Although none of us are professional photographers we do all aspire to be advanced serious amateurs devoting whatever time we can to improve our skills and create works for our viewers.
Exhibiting virtually is new to us and represents some challenges which means thinking about photographs in a different scale, different optical surfaces and very different placements. The opportunity to show our work in this publication rather than on the walls of the Beverly Farms Library forces us to focus and to think about two very different kinds of audience experience. We are all grateful for this opportunity and we sincerely hope that you enjoy. Please feel free to let me know if you would like additional information about any of the photos you see in this publication.
