Accessible Entrance and Elevator Access
Both the main library and Farms branch buildings have wheelchair accessible entrances and elevator access on all floors. Directions and parking information can be found on the main library and Farms branch pages.
Assistive Technology at the Main Library
- A desktop video magnifier is located on the second floor.
- A variety of assistive tools are available at the Reference Desk for use in the building.
- An adaptive toolkit is available on demand for use during programs. This toolkit contains items such as fidgets, noise dampening headphones, adaptive scissors, and more.
- An iPad with language translation apps is available at service desks to assist staff with multilingual interactions.
- Print, fax, and microfilm stations have large print keyboards.
- Public computers can be adjusted for screen magnification and visual enhancements, and all have Zabaware Text-to-Speech Reader.
- The Sohier Room is equipped with assistive listening devices.

Delivery Service
For those who may be unable to visit the main library or Farms branch we offer a Bookmobile and Home Delivery service.

Only Service Animals are allowed in the library.

The City of Beverly’s ADA Office is run out of the Municipal Inspections Office and the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging Office, and Beverly’s ADA Coordinators are the current Building Commissioner, Jim Butler, and the current DEIB Director, Wangari Fahari.

The Disability Law Center is a private, non-profit organization responsible for providing protection and advocacy for the rights of Massachusetts residents with disabilities.
Massachusetts Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
MCDHH provides accessible communication, education, and advocacy to consumers and private and public entities so that programs, services, and opportunities are fully accessible to persons who are deaf and hard of hearing.

New England ADA Center
The ADA National Network provides information, guidance and training on the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), tailored to meet the needs of business, government and individuals at local, regional and national levels.
Northeast Arc Technology Lending Library
The Assistive Technology Lending Library is run by the Center for Linking Lives and allows visitors to test out and borrow some of the newest smart home and disability-specific applications and devices on the market.
Perkins School for the Blind Library
Perkins Library circulates more than half a million copies of accessible books, newspapers, and publications in braille, large print, and digital audio formats annually to thousands of registered patrons.
