Farms Branch Closed Until Further Notice

4/30/25 – Steady progress is being made on the restoration of the Farms branch. Repair work is still underway, with contractors currently focusing on restoring the building’s interior and ensuring all systems are up to code. While there’s still work ahead, we’re on track to reopen in late May/early June and are very much looking forward to welcoming the community back.

Please save the date for the Farms Lawn Party on Saturday, June 28, from 1-3 PM.

3/25/25 – The repair process is taking longer than initially expected. The Farms branch is now expected to reopen in May 2025. The City remains committed to reopening the branch as soon as possible.

2/28/25 – Repairs and remediation continue, but are taking longer than initially expected. The Farms branch is now expected to reopen in early April 2025.

1/29/25 – Repairs and remediation are currently underway. The current projected timeline for reopening the Farms branch is mid-March 2025.

1/21/25 – The City’s HVAC vendor was performing a necessary repair at the Farms branch library when the work inadvertently resulted in a small fire. While the fire was contained to the HVAC system, it resulted in significant damage to the duct work and smoke permeated the building.

At this time, the vendor is taking responsibility for repairs and remediation. The branch will be closed until further notice. As soon as we have more information regarding reopening, we will update this post.

Farms branch patrons are encouraged to utilize other service points of the Beverly Public Library, including the main library, Bookmobile, and online offerings. The Farms collection will not be accessible until further notice. All current Farms holds are being transferred to the main library for pickup. We encourage you to return items to the main library. As a reminder, the library does not charge late fines.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and hope to see you soon.
