Welcome to Our Library of Things

The Library of Things is a collection of nontraditional items you can borrow from the Beverly Public Library. It’s free. All you need is a library card!

Bike Repair Kit
DAWAY bike repair tool kit has 16 different types of bicycle mechanic repair tools.

Binoculars
Compact Roof Prism 10×42 Binoculars. Designed for outdoor activities such as climbing, hiking, watching wildlife and scenery. Great for watching concerts and sporting events.

Digital Microscope

Healing Drum Kit
Need to relax or tap into your inner creativity? With the guidance of a music therapist, this kit will help you explore the art of drumming to stimulate your creativity and release tension and anxiety.

Stay connected to the internet almost anywhere you go! The T-Mobile 4G LTE HotSpot will allow you to access the internet on your wireless device using T-Mobile’s cell phone network.

Karaoke Machine
Have fun with your family and friends. Comes with CD player, microphone, Bluetooth, LED disco lights, and RCA cables that connect to your television.

Kill A Watt
Take control of your energy use. Connect your appliances to the Kill A Watt energy detector and find out how energy efficient your appliances are.

Metal Detector
Rugged metal detector ideal for detecting treasure in extreme ground conditions.

Paper Shredder
Strip-cut paper shredder with 8-sheet capacity.

Portable Bluetooth Speaker
Wirelessly connect up to 3 smartphones or tablets to the speaker and take turns playing powerful stereo sound.

Soil Tester
Soil tester provides quick and accurate information about your soil’s moisture, pH, and even sunlight level.

Stud Finder
A magnetic stud finder, no batteries required. Includes a bubble level.

Telescope
Orion StarBlast 4.5” Altazimuth reflector telescope. Patrons may reserve a telescope for a specific week of their choice and can be borrowed for up to 7 days. Telescopes must be reserved through the Children’s Room. Please read our telescope brochure for further information.

Toolkit
The 65-piece homeowner’s toolkit includes all the tools needed to complete basic DIY projects around the home.

Ukulele
The Kala Soprano ukulele is the most common size of ukulele. Instruction booklet and links to free lessons are included.

These items are available for in-library use only.
Available at the Reference Desk unless otherwise noted.

Chromebooks
Don’t have a laptop? You can borrow one of our Chromebooks for use inside the library.

Headphones
You can’t blast that YouTube video in the library, but you can if you borrow some Sony headphones.

iPads (Children’s Room Only)
For children grades 5 and under. iPads are loaned out for 30 minutes at a time in the Children’s Room.

MakerBot Replicator Desktop 3D Printer and MakerBot Replicator Mini Compact 3D Printer
Learn how to use a 3D printer. Take our Introduction to 3D Printing instructional session prior to using the 3D printer independently.

Memory Card Reader-Writer
Universal Memory Bank, 56-in-1 Memory Card Reader/Writer.

Phone Chargers
Two iPhone chargers, one micro USB Android charger and one USB Type-C charger.
