Support the Library

Friends of the Beverly Public Library

The Friends of the Beverly Public Library is a non-profit organization that helps support the services and programs of the Beverly Public Library. Through fundraising efforts such as book sales and membership drives, the Friends raise money for museum passes, popular programs for all ages, and library furnishings. The financial support of the Friends enables the library to do and have so much – from a 3D printer, to an engaging Monday Mornings lecture series, to fun and educational children’s programs throughout the year, and so much more.

New and renewing members can join or renew online!

For those who prefer to pay by check, use our printable annual membership letter and form.

For more information on how to get involved, contact Meghan Karasin, Assistant Director, at 978-921-6062, ext. 2130. Follow the Friends on Facebook and Instagram!

Friends of the Farms

The Friends of the Beverly Farms Library support the Farms branch with donations that enable us to enhance library services. The Friends sponsor all library programs for children and adults. Thanks to Friends’ donations we are able to bring performers and lecturers to the library. We also support a variety of literary and creative programs throughout the year. Friends purchase museum passes that allow discounted entrance to area museums, both locally and in Boston. The Friends sponsor our annual open house events, the Nutcracker Tea in December and the Library Lawn Party in June.

New and renewing members can join or renew online. Or print the Farms membership flyer if you prefer to pay by check.

Donations & Gifts

Book Donations
We appreciate you thinking of us for your book donations.

  • We can accept 2 boxes/bags of clean books per household at a time.
  • Books must be in new or very good condition and brought inside the library (Children’s Room, first floor, in the blue cart) during open hours.
  • We cannot accept: VHS tapes, DVDs, CDs, magazines, textbooks, encyclopedias.
  • Unfortunately, we can’t help unload or return your boxes and bags.

Donated books are sold at library book sales to raise money for library programs. Thank you for your support!

If you have any additional questions, please contact the library at 978-921-6062.

Monetary Donations
The Beverly Public Library depends on the generosity of donors to fund things not included in the Library budget. Donations may be in the form of securities or cash. They may be outright gifts or they may be endowments or trust funds. All donations are expended under the direction of the Board of Library Trustees. All donations are tax deductible charitable contributions. To discuss making a donation to the Beverly Public Library or the Beverly Farms Branch Library, you may contact Allison Babin, Library Director at 978-921-6062, ext. 2118.

Volunteer Opportunities

Library volunteers help return books to the stacks and help check the correct placement of books on the shelves. Your commitment can be for as little as several hours a month to several hours a week. If you are interested, or would like more information, call 978-921-6062 and speak with the Circulation Department.
